Thumbs up Toilet Training: Peter Potty

Toilet training your child can be a difficult and frustrating process. This is especially true for boys as studies have shown that boys usually take longer to become potty trained than girls. Additionally, for boys, there's always the transitional period of going from sitting down to standing up.

My 3 yr old's pre-K class required that the students be toilet trained before starting their 3 yr olds class. The start date was looming and I was still having difficulty getting my son to go in the potty. Then I read about a stand up potty that was also flushable.

I found them at one of the Walmarts in town (30 miles away! Seems not all of the Walmarts carries them) and purchased 2 of them..one for downstairs and one for upstairs.

When my son saw it, he was so excited saying that's "my potty". He also loved to flush the potty. The height was adjustable so it was easy to get it to the perfect height.

Within a week of purchasing the Peter Potty, he was fully toilet trained! Hard to believe but I guess the combination of "cute" design, the flushing action, and the proper height all worked to make going to the potty an enjoyable and interesting experience for him.

For anyone with toddler boys who are having difficulty with their potty training, I highly recommend this product. The price I paid was $35 each at Walmart.

Peter Potty
Description: Peter Potty is the world's only flushable Potty Trainer! With a push of the button, the urinal flushes clean. The urinal can be wall or floor mounted and adjusts from the base up to 4" while your child grows. No plumbing required.
Pros: See above

Cons: Not many but a few things to note..
-The water is held in a container on top of the potty. It holds enough for probably 5 flushes which can go quickly, if like my son, they flush 2 to 3 times per.
-The used water is held in a container at the bottom of the potty in a pull out drawer style container. This needs to be emptied and cleaned often. Can sometimes spill if not careful in pulling the container out when it's completely full.
-Best to order online since they don't seem to be available widely. Out of many Walmarts in town, I was only able to find it at one location.
